HOW TO STAY AHEAD IN INTERIOR DESIGN

Founder and British designer, Verity Woolf delves into her 30 years of experience and how she has created a unique approach to interior design. Verity’s previous experience in the film and tv industry fostered her aptitude to weave character and narrative into spaces, leading to the establishment of London WOOLF in 2009 and later expanding with another studio in Bath. Verity and her team at WOOLF stand out for their holistic approach to design, drawing inspiration from diverse sources including art, fashion, music, and film.

EVOLVING AESTHETICS

“Our award-winning studios create private homes, members’ clubs and hotels with unique personalities”

Our distinctive approach to interior design draws on inspiration from diverse interplays of art, fashion, music, and film. Verity cultivated her roots as a film and television designer, and has mastered the art of weaving character and narrative into interior spaces.

Verity frequently works in tandem with teams of architects on demanding, complex and detailed schemes towards a common design objective. Her work spans interior architecture, interior design and decoration with herself and her award-winning team crafting timeless, one-off spaces for high-end residential properties and luxury hotels.

HOUSING AND HOTELS

“Ordinary territory? No, its transformational, creative, and visionary.”

We’ve worked with an incredibly diverse range of private individuals and brands over the last 30 years — drawn to our discrete, collaborative, and fun-loving approach. We established the London studio in 2009 and have since expanded with the addition of a flourishing new studio in the City of Bath. We have fully embraced the evolutionary speed of technology to enhance the fluidity of our design processes - CAD and AI have enhanced the fluidity of our design processes but truly well-crafted projects still demand traditional workmanship, skill, and time.

NEW HORIZONS FOR WOOLF

“Our projects blend tradition and imagination, to create homes with a sense of balance, warmth, refinement, and individuality.”

We are accredited historic interior design experts, recognised for our skill at designing Grade I and Grade II listed interiors. We give historical interiors, with all the challenges that listed buildings present, a new lease of life by skilfully balancing tradition with innovation. We create spaces that honour layers of history and embrace modernity for future generations to enjoy.

SO SUSTAINABLE?

“As a studio we invest time to thoughtfully address current and future design needs, towards a net zero challenge.”

Sustainability is central to our ethos; we’ve seen a notable shift from ethically outsourced production toward locally sourced British resources and skills. The studio upholds our own ‘Green Credentials’ which align with emerging sustainable technologies and ensure our projects deliver on energy efficiency.

ART AND FURNITURE COLLABORATIONS

“Relationships, unique and exciting, are some of the most exciting aspects of our work”

Collaboration is fundamental to our practice, and we’re lucky enough to curate art collections extensively in our projects, and  worked with terrific brands, from Pucci and Pierre Frey to  major art galleries and artists across fashion, film, textiles, lighting and product design.

We have extensively curated art collections for hotels and private clients which reflect an eclectic mix of high and low art, blending elegance with edginess.

These unique collections sit within harmonious and meaningful interiors, our bespoke furniture and joinery designs are crafted by top artisans creating visually stunning interiors, designed to tell a story.

FUTURE FOCUS

Blurring traditional boundaries signals a reassuring vision of the future.”

We’ve observed a significant shift in how spaces are conceived and used, distinctions between residential spaces, boutique hotels, and private clubs have blended, giving rise to hybrid spaces that offer greater accessibility to luxury or immersive experiences.

Consumers are less inclined to look for a signature look or feel constrained by a particular design identity. Our characterful, transformational design work is inspired by the arts and developed in collaboration with iconic British brands.
