Stage One
Project Appraisal, Listed Building Planning & Brand Narratives
Every successful project begins with understanding the building. We establish your ambitions alongside the property's architectural opportunities and constraints, considering the brief, budget, programme and level of intervention required. For listed and historic properties, we work with appointed planning, heritage and architectural specialists to establish the permissions required and develop a clear strategy. For hospitality projects, this stage also includes an interior brand narrative, cost strategy and feasibility proposal.
Stage Two
Spatial & Concept Design
Exceptional interiors begin with thorough spatial planning. We explore how your property should function, considering circulation, proportion, views, natural light and the relationship between spaces. 2D plans and 3D models help develop kitchens, bathrooms, furniture, lighting and electrical requirements as one integrated concept. We also consider the architectural fabric, from staircases and fireplaces to doors, mouldings and joinery, creating spaces that respect the character of the building.
Stage Three
Design Development & Specialist Coordination
As the concept develops, we coordinate the technical and specialist elements alongside a sustainable building strategy, considering energy efficiency, water use and carbon reduction as part of the wider design. WOOLF coordinates design information with the wider consultant team, from architects, structural and mechanical engineers to lighting, acoustic and heritage specialists.
We also work with trusted craftspeople, makers and suppliers. This collaborative approach integrates building services and technical requirements while protecting the clarity, character and quality of the overall interior architecture design.
Stage Four
Technical & Detailed Design
At this stage, the design intent is translated into detailed design and production information. WOOLF develops coordinated plans, elevations, schedules and technical details for kitchens, bathrooms, lighting, flooring, doors, fireplaces, mouldings and bespoke joinery as required. For period and listed properties, every new detail is considered in relation to the building's age, proportions and architectural language. Comprehensive tender information allows contractors and specialist makers to price and construct the work accurately.
Stage Five
Construction & Procurement
Drawing upon our established network of craftspeople, makers and manufacturers, our appointment often includes proposal review, contractor selection, programme coordination, procurement and the supervision of specialist installations.
During construction, WOOLF works collaboratively with the appointed project team, contractors, specialist trades, craftspeople and suppliers to protect the design programme as the project progresses. We review relevant shop drawings, bespoke samples and coordinate design information throughout delivery.
Stage Six
Completion, Installation & Handover
The final stage brings the architecture, interiors and finishing details together, preparing the property for handover or opening. For private residences, WOOLF coordinates final FF&E installation, artwork, accessories and decorative snagging, positioning and styling each element to create a considered and personal home. For hotels and hospitality, we coordinate final dressing and styling across guest spaces and, where required, prepare the interiors and brand narrative for professional photography, press, website and social media.
