Woolf Intersior Architecture & Design

Interior Architecture Process

Interior architecture takes a technical approach to the spatial arrangement of internal spaces. This specialism considers how spaces are to be constructed and how the various essential services will be integrated. It is a skill that blends the art of interior decoration, interior design and architecture.

Interior Architecture Process - Stage One - Listed Buildings & Planning

Stage One

Listed Buildings & Planning

Where necessary, WOOLF provides advice and works on town planning, listed building and heritage consultants to obtain permissions required for the alterations of historic homes and buildings.

WOOLF is renowned for their specialist skills in creating designs for Grade I and Grade II listed buildings and are accredited historic interior designers for luxury homes houses and leading and boutique hotels. Our Bath and London teams have a wealth of experience designing architectural interiors for Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian and other period properties.

Stage Two

Spatial Design

Spatial design and functionality are established in the initial design phase and are then developed into detailed interior technical drawings.

WOOLF’s interior architects create bespoke plans for each space, articulating the spatial flow throughout the property, focusing on creating exceptional layouts for bathrooms, kitchens, furniture, lighting & electrical planning.

We will also consider the building’s fabric, from staircases and internal doors, to cornices and built-in joinery, so that every detail of the interior of a building is considered and connects beautifully and seamlessly. We embrace the innate, unique character and era of each building, whilst also considering how contemporary owners of period properties will use them.

Throughout the process we work closely and collaboratively with our clients, to seamlessly blend the spaces and to showcase their personality in the interior design, bringing their vision to life.

WOOLF is a multidisciplinary design studio that provides thorough pre-construction preparation by providing a comprehensive set of detailed plans and decorating schedules for the tender process. We also draw upon our years of experience designing bespoke and one-off pieces to create beautiful homes and hotels.
