Stage One
Project Appraisal & Initial Proposal
Every project starts with a conversation. Our complimentary initial consultation allows us to understand your property, ambitions and what you would like the design process to achieve. We consider the scope alongside budget, programme, planning, procurement and phasing, as well as existing architecture, furniture, art or collections that might form part of the finished interior. WOOLF then prepares a tailored proposal establishing the recommended scope of services, design stages, fee structure and anticipated programme.
Stage Two
Concept Development - Defining the Look & Feel
No two WOOLF interiors are designed to look the same. We explore the personality of each project through its architecture, setting and history, using conversation, imagery, material references and initial concepts to establish the creative direction and atmosphere. For private residences, we consider how our clients live, entertain and use their home. For hospitality projects, we explore the property’s story, brand positioning and guest experience, creating a clear design narrative to guide everything that follows.
Stage Three
Detailed Design & Project Coordination
With the creative direction and budget parameters established, individual room schemes and their relationships are developed in detail. Layouts consider furniture, kitchens, bathrooms, lighting and the practical use of each space, alongside colour, materials, flooring, wall finishes, and fabrics. WOOLF develops the drawings, schedules, specifications and design information required by contractors, suppliers and specialist makers, bringing architectural and decorative decisions together into one considered interior scheme.
Stage Four
Specification & Bespoke Design
Drawing upon our extensive supplier directory, WOOLF sources and selects the materials, finishes, furniture, lighting and decorative elements that give each interior its individual character. Our expertise extends to the design of bespoke furniture and joinery, tailored to the individual scheme. For period and listed properties, each selection responds to the age, proportions and architectural character of the building. Detailed specifications, schedules and samples bring the scheme together as a coordinated and costed interior, ready for procurement.
Stage Five
FF&E Procurement & Construction
Our designers work alongside contractors, consultants, specialist makers, suppliers and craftspeople to bring the many elements of the interior together. Individual FF&E schemes combine contemporary and bespoke furniture with antiques, vintage pieces, decorative lighting, textiles, window treatments, artwork and accessories. WOOLF's procurement team manages the ordering and coordination of approved FF&E, giving clients visibility over purchasing, budget and delivery while maintaining the quality and integrity of the overall design.
Stage Six
Installation, Styling & Completion
The final stage brings the complete interior to life. WOOLF coordinates FF&E installation alongside final construction and decorative snagging. Furniture, artwork, objects and collections are carefully positioned and styled, adding character and personality to each space.
For residential clients, the result is a personal and comfortable home, considered in every detail and ready to be lived in. For boutique hotels, attention is given to the details that shape the guest experience across bedrooms, suites and shared spaces, reflecting the character of the property.

Interior Design or Interior Architecture?
Interior design determines how a space looks and feels; interior architecture considers how it is structured, configured and functions.
Interior design encompasses materials, colour, furniture, lighting, textiles, art, FF&E and decorative detail, while interior architecture addresses spatial planning, architectural detailing and the technical elements of the interior.
WOOLF provides both as an integrated service, or interior design independently where significant architectural or structural change is not required.
