Oceanic House, in the City of Westminster is a distinguished Grade II listed building with a remarkable history. Once serving as the headquarters of the White Star Line, the company who built the Titanic, the building’s legacy is steeped in grandeur. Now reimagined, with prestigious hotel apartments, the period property embodies classical style and refined and luxurious comfort.

Designing a Dialogue Between Eras
The design concept for Oceanic House was informed by the interplay between history and modern elegance. Every design decision was shaped by the building’s Grade II listed status, ensuring that interior architecture and historical integrity was preserved as the layers of luxury were introduced. Original period features were meticulously restored to their former splendour, then paired with understated furnishings that are a combination of contemporary and classical designs alongside bespoke joinery, and atmospheric lighting. The result is an outstanding period hotel with apartments that feel timeless with exceptional design all while exuding a sense of home away from home.

The Art of Subtle Luxury
WOOLF’s approach to this interior design commercial project took influence from the heritage of Oceanic House and its Grade II listed building status. WOOLF sought to revive the spirit of Oceanic House through honouring tradition while elevating the hotel aesthetic and guest experience. Each guest hotel apartment radiates quiet luxury, a residence that evokes sophistication, comfort, and an undeniable sense of place. This refined material orchestration reflects WOOLF’s commitment to luxury and is a great example of our historic expertise.

Crafting the Interiors for a Prestigious Hotel
Transforming a Grade II listed property into a hotel with glamourous apartments, presented a unique set of challenges and opportunities. Every space within Oceanic House was purposefully reimagined to meet the expectations of today’s residents while preserving the heritage and interior architectural features that give the period building its identity. Flow and spatial hierarchy were carefully reconsidered to balance aesthetic beauty with operational efficiency. WOOLF’s interior design for this commercial project ensures that every moment within the luxury hotel, from lobby arrival to guest apartments, reflects a seamless fusion of history, classical style, and contemporary flair.
